BRING ON THE CAVALRY

The bold ascension of Karaktar has been heralded by a front line of progeny lead by the prodigious chaser Il est Français (Prix Renaud du Vivier Gr.1, Prix Juigné Gr.3, Prix Richard and Robert Hennessy Gr.3), and winner of the important Gr.1 Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at Kempton in December 2023. Additional black-type winners have boosted this first generation, such as Incollable, Janeiro Verde or Karakta in France, and Kala Conti in the UK. A new regiment is now being prepared, more powerful than ever, from individuals conceived in 2022 (141 mares covered) and 2023 (245 mares covered). The first of these crops will be two years old in 2025. In 2024, Karaktar met with 208 mares, confirming his status as one of the most popular sires in France. A vector of the Sadler’s Wells line, via High Chaparral, the Aga Khan Studs-bred stallion also carries the Kahyasi label which is so valuable over jumps. He transmits a touch of class which was only partially revealed on the track after his career was curtailed by injury.

The new cavalry which he has created is now called to arms and will be a force to be reckoned with in elite jumping ranks
